In short: we use a few cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and see which pages are useful. We don't use advertising cookies.
Cookies in one paragraph
A cookie is a tiny text file a website saves in your browser so it can recognise you on your next visit. Similar tools, such as local storage, work in much the same way. In this policy "cookies" covers all of them.
What we use them for
| Type | What it does | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in | Keeps you logged in and protects your account from forged requests | No, the editor won't work without it |
| Preferences | Remembers choices such as light or dark mode | Yes, the site will just forget your choice |
| Attribution | Notes which site or campaign brought you here, so we know where our users come from | Yes |
| Analytics | Counts page views and feature use, in aggregate, so we can improve the product | Yes |
| Support chat | Keeps your conversation open if the live chat widget is enabled | Yes, but chat history won't persist |
When you pay, our payment partner Waffo Pancake may set its own cookies on its checkout page to prevent fraud. Those are covered by Waffo's privacy policy.
What we don't do
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No selling or sharing of cookie data with ad networks.
- No tracking you across other websites.
How to control cookies
Every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies in its settings, and you can usually also ask it to warn you before a cookie is saved. Blocking sign-in cookies will log you out and stop the editor from working; blocking the others has no effect on editing.
Updates
If we add a new type of cookie, we will update this page and the date at the top.
